Private Wedding Podcasts: Joy via Invitation-Only Listening
It’s one of the biggest days of your lives. An important step on the beginning of a new journey together. But how much do your guests, your families, your friends really know about your love story; the paths you took to reach this point together?

Weddings are also one-of-a-kind events when guests share stories and advice that we don’t want to forget. That’s why I capture these spoken words with audio documentaries.

Why audio?
- Audio is less daunting for interview subjects. Microphones are often much easier to face than a video camera lens and bright lighting. Since interview subjects don’t have to worry about what they look like, they are more relaxed and natural.
- Audio provides a unique wedding experience. Many wedding guests have never been interviewed and are flattered that you want to record them. “I feel famous.. and I like it!” a recent guest said.
- Audio integrates better in your life. You can listen to audio via podcast apps while doing other things (like commuting, exercising, house cleaning, etc). Video, on the other hand, requires your full, undivided attention.
- Audio is easily shared via mobile apps. Friends and family who were unable to attend can easily listen to what they missed via their cell phones. Wedding guests can easily relive moments from the wedding celebration for years (and anniversaries) to come.
- Audio uniquely engages listeners. When listening to podcasts, we use our imagination to picture in our mind’s eye what we’re hearing. This means that audio is well suited to refresh the memories of couples and their guests and reconnect with the joy they felt during wedding celebrations.
